Breezy Jazz House is proud to bring back the exceptional Alto Jazz Saxophone player from Wilmington, NC, and his quartet for the Opening of the 2025 Jacksonville Jazz Festival. This will be a special after show performance starting at 8 pm. Bring your Jazz Piano Competition Program for FREE admission. Benny Hill has a Bachelor of Music Degree from the University of North Carolina, Wilmington and a Masters of Music from Northern Illinois University. Benny currently resides in Wilmington, N.C. and is an adjunct professor at Cape Fear Community College. For the past twenty years, Benny has performed in a diverse set of musical groups and engagements, ranging from orchestra pits to cruise ships to featured artist and soloist at numerous venues across the country and abroad. Benny is well-versed in the many styles and genres of popular and classical music while specializing in jazz performance. He is steeped in the tradition of many of the past jazz greats, including Julian “Cannonball” Adderley, Jackie McLean, Dexter Gordon, John Coltrane and Charlie Parker. His improvisations on the Alto Saxophone are reminiscent of these legends, yet he has a distinct style and voice of his own. Benny is a true crowd pleaser and never fails to produce excitement and enthusiasm on stage.
